Image Rules <img:stuff/chocoboreading.gif>

Copyright infringement is a major problem here on Elf12. Close to half of the younger members, and even some of the older members, have at least one image in their house that is not allowed, because the image is copyrighted.

Breaking copyright is against the law, and can get both you and Elf12 into major trouble. Therefore, the Guards will delete any images in your house that are copyrighted.

Starting today, since it is hard for the Guards to tell if an image is copyright by just looking at it, you must provide a weblink back to the site that the images you have in your house came from, or the image(s) will be deleted.

Please note that images from Elftown Graphics are not allowed.

Image Rules (Continued)

There are a few more image rules I would like to clear up.

-Taking images from ET graphics, These images were made for Elftown, not Elf12.

-More cases of art theft, I have seen even more cases of art theft, If you did not draw the picture, please do not uipload it to Elf12, Art theft is taking some one elses art and either claiming it as your own or uploading it on your house with out permission. Continous violations could lead to a member getting Banned We don't want that.

- Please look at What pictures are not allowed to understand more about the image rules ;)

Image Rules (Continued)

Copyright infringement is a major problem here on Elf12. Nearly half of the younger members have at least one image that is copyrighted in their member house.

Copyrighted images are not allowed in your house and any copyrighted images will be removed by the Guards!

Any image that is from a website that does not say it is free to use will be considered copyrighted. Please only post images from websites that say they are free to use!

Starting 7 days from today, all images that are not proven to be free to use will be taken down by the Guards! You have seven days to either take the image down on your own, or post a note somewhere in your description saying the website where the images came from.

If you have copyrighted images that you really want to have around, you may place them on wikipages, as long as they do not appear on your house. Copyright images are allowed on the wikipages, but not in member houses, once again.

The Elf12 Guards and Council are sorry that this rule seems so harsh, but if Elf12 is sued for copyright laws, then this site could be closed down forever. We do not want that, and hopefully neither do you.
